I had problems building usbredirhost with mingw.
The linker complained about unrecognized symbols.
The following two patches solved for me:
1. configuring libusbx to not create_import_lib
2. modifiying libusb-1.0.def file
Note that I did not check if those patches (specifically Patch 2)
changes the ability of the library to be used by Windows tools.
Also do you prefer in Patch 1 the help to be (from commit message):
"Enable MinGW and MSVC DLL interchangeability"
