The two warnings in core are false positives that I think can be fixed 
easily by having the following at line 686:
struct libusb_device **devs = NULL;

If you have a chance, can you confirm this is the case (if not, just 
wait for a while, as I'll produce a patch that should address all these 
warnings later on, that you can apply and test).

Clang doesn't seem to provide as much insight as I hoped for the darwin 
warning, but I still have a pretty good idea of what's going on, and how 
to address it.

It doesn't look like what Clang complains about could have an impact on 
the OS-X memory leaks issue.
