Setting LIBUSB_DEBUG to 2 did not produce the output I got on the test machine. There are no warning or error log entries at all, except for the segfault entry in syslog.
Just to verify that I did it right: I added the following line to /etc/init.d/pcscd, before the pcsc daemon gets started -> export LIBUSB_DEBUG=2 I think you don't want to see the backtrace again.
