Haven't had a chance to try the filter, but I will when I can.

That's because it takes 2 clicks to do it. :)
In the Options menu
- [Check] List All Device
- [Uncheck] Ignore Hubs and Composite Parents
Then you can replace the composite parent.

The idea is that only advanced users should try replacing hub or 
composite parents on Windows.
