Hola --

A vendor of ours has an "API" where a compiled C client on Solaris uses https for
transport and a .kdb file for authentication. I don't have their C source code, and
would like to use Linux / Perl to get the job done instead of their black box.

Has anyone ever heard of using a .kdb file as a key(s) to access an https server? Is
this a standard somewhere? (I seached for RFC's on faqs.org/rfcs/ and didn't see
any...) Is this functionality already embedded into libwww somewhere and I just don't
see it?

If no one has ever done this and I figured it out would it be useful to submit
patch(es) for libwww? Into which packages / namespaces should I inject such a feature?
Or is this proprietary nonsense that no one else would want in libwww anyway?

Thanks,

Jay Hannah
