I agree that these should be served as plain text without the CMS header/footer/etc., but don't (offhand) see a way of doing this in the CMS. Any lurking Drupal masters want to show me how it can be done?
Assuming it is somehow possible in the CMS, I think it would be great to add these more widely - a copy of the author's canonical .txt version where available; a copy systematically generated from the canonical HTML (perhaps with pandoc) where no canonical text version exists. But that will take some effort. As part of that effort, I have added a "canonical .txt?" column to the wiki license info gathering page and filled in the row for MPL 2.0: http://wiki.opensource.org/license_comment_sweep Anyone who wants to help out with that, please feel free :) Luis On Sun, Mar 17, 2013 at 2:11 AM, Engel Nyst <engel.n...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hello license-discuss, > > In the process of testing a license database tool [1], we noticed that OSI > site serves the few licenses with plaintext versions available, as text/html. > Please see: > http://opensource.org/licenses/cddl1.txt > http://opensource.org/licenses/cpl1.0.txt > http://opensource.org/licenses/eclipse-1.0.txt > > There are very few of them and it is very useful for license documentation, > authoring/packaging and analysis tools, to have canonical plaintext versions. > I suppose that the expected result of these links would be simply serving > text/plain. > > Thank you for considering it! > > [1] https://licensedb.org/ > _______________________________________________ > License-discuss mailing list > License-discuss@opensource.org > http://projects.opensource.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/license-discuss _______________________________________________ License-discuss mailing list License-discuss@opensource.org http://projects.opensource.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/license-discuss
