Hello Magnus :) > I have a problem according licq 1.2.0a. > When I try to send a message direct to an user, it won't work - only > messages via the server will work. - This appears even if I use the V8 > protocoll. So no direkt connection can be made (the other side is an ICQ > 2002a client with the direct connection to older clients allowed) from licq > to any other and vicy versa. I guess the other user is behind a masquerading firewall, too. For me direct connections do work very well, i'm sitting behind a masquerading firewall, too. If the other person sits behind a firewall it is required that at least one packet went through the server and you received a answer. Then your masqerading firewall can "remember" the connection and afterwards direct sending should be possible. There is not much that you can do about this, it's a general problem with masquerading (think of FTP for example), not a licq problem. If everything fails you can configure licq to use some specific ports and then configure your firewall to forward these ports to your PC. For example you can try a port range from 40000-400010.
