The official client will make a direct connection to you periodically (usually when you sign on or they sign on, sometimes at other times to you as well). It then abruptly closes the connection and sends all events through the server. If you initiate the direct connection, ICQ2002a will use that direct connection to send messages. I think this is a bug with ICQ and there's some fix for it.... http://www.tuneld.com/htm/icq/icqbug.htm That only applies to the remote users, so there's nothing you can do but tellt hem about this.. if that is the problem.
