Yes, I had this problem too, when pasting from a Gnome terminal into LICQ.  I 
worked around it by pasting into some other program, then copying it again 
and pasting it into LICQ.

I've since installed a newer version of my Linux distro though, and it came 
with a newer version of Gnome and whatever else is used which has fixed the 
problem.  So I suggest you upgrade qt or whatever - perhaps you could upgrade 
one thing at a time, then when you hit the one that fixes the problem tell us 
so we know for next time.
