OK. I have just about the same problem, even though I have upgraded to
1.04, as I have been advised to. With 1.0.4, I could get no more than
with 1.03, that is, nothing at all, except that I knew who was online or
offline, that is all.

However, still using 1.0.4, I have tried to recuperate my old UIN number,
the one that I was using, that I am still successfully using, with
licq-0.83. Once this UIN was recuperated in I.0.4, I have been able to
communicate with one (only one) of my former contacts. With this person,
everything seems to work fine. She was the only one to be imported on my
new list of contacts, despites that there should have been about 15.

So, what is being advised to do at this time ? Wait till a stable
version comes out ? Try using licq 1.1, even though it is supposedly in
a beta testing version ?

Thanks for useful advices.

As for going through old messages of the list, I figure that one would
have to go through a lot of them. I have tried, at first searching for
'1.0.3', and, since I had found nothing useful, I started reading a
certain amount of messages one after the other... to no avail. It would
be a good thing if there was an up to date FAQ... Well, don't you people
take me wrong, there is no complain : I know how much time it takes to
write a FAQ and maintain it...
