This is likely resolved with the lightdm-gtk-greeter 1.8 series. Can you test this again in 14.04?

Removing the password does not help as well - I have to change the focus to a different account, then move back. Steps to reproduce: 1. At the login screen, start typing some letters (do not press Enter). 2. Click the current session icon at the top of the right-hand side of the username. 3. Nothing happens! 4. Remove the typed characters. 5. Repeat step 2. 6. Nothing happens again! 7. Focus another account with the up or down arrow, then click the icon again. 8. Observe desired behaviour for steps 3 and 6 (the session list appears).
