I'm changing the status on the patch to needs work. I noticed that an
error is produced if you try to apply the measure counter across a broken
bar. I realize that this is quite an unlikely situation. I've written a
solution which repeats the number in parentheses for one, two, as many
measure pieces as there are (increasingly more unlikely...)
I don't think that the Tuesday countdown deadline is adequate for proper
review (and I'd like to make sure all the tees are crossed...)
