I know; my workflow is
cd mf
# edit feta-clefs.mf
mf '\mode:=proof; input feta11'; gftodvi feta11.2602gf
xdvi feta11.dvi &
# more edits/mf cycles
if everything looks good on screen, I do
make clean; make
in the mf directory and check by
lilypond clefs.ly # a local copy of ../input/regression/clefs.ly
afterwards. The resulting pdf document does not show the mangled
tenorG clef.
