Many enquiries to -user are consequences of using \stemUp and \stemDown
inappropriately, causing clashing note column warnings, rather than
allocating notes to voices correctly. Although there are not many examples
of changing the stem direction in the LM and NR it would be better if these
were eliminated, especially in the LM, or at least reduced in number to
avoid leading new users into the mistake of copying them. Slurs, ties or
dynamics would be less harmful subjects for illustrating the use of the
direction property.
