Well, there are probably about two regtests at most specifically relevant
for PDF (probably all involving \tableofcontents or so). Doing all the
regtests as standalone files in PDF seems way excessive. Having a few
backend-specific tests in make test might be a good idea, but the regtests
itself are presented in a variety of backends (when doing make doc) anyway,
so backend specific tests would likely not be actually included in the
printed/website versions.
