A good tool to look at would be Antlr. If someone wants to maintain a convert-ly (not one of the main lilypond developers) it's well worth investigating. Just bear in mind it's about to go a major rev to v3.


I'm learning it for another project, and it's got some pretty neat abilities, such as remembering all your whitespacing :-) It would, actually, probably be one of the best tools to use, and it's Open Source (written in Java :-(
