It is the very definition of madness to try the same thing over and over again and expect a different outcome. My last try of git-cl worked. I have no idea why but it produced issue 4841. So please do not bother submitting this patch series in my stead, I might be able to submit it on my own. Also I think that I spotted another opportunity for simplification that I want to follow up on.
