Jeremiah is talking about the unofficial bundles of LilyPond 2.20 made by Marnen and linked on https://lilypond.org/macos-x.html, while you are talking about the official binaries of LilyPond 2.23.x (which are simple tar archives, not macOS bundles). Regards, Jean
