You can open *.ly-Files with every editor (maybe notepad on Win???, but there are surely better progs available). > I'm running Win2k. I do have the > Cygwin icon on my Start menu. That's good. :-) Open a cygwin console by clicking on the icon. Lilypond is not as most (all) progs you might know on Win. There is no graphical interface. You just write a textfile in your favorite editor, surely in a special way; see the indroduction on the website. Then you can run lilypond FILE.ly OR ly2dvi FILE.ly (depends on what version you use; versions since 2.0.0 use the first one, prior the last) and you get some files of the music you just wrote. Most likely you want to have the ps/pdf-Files which you can wach in Acrobat Reader or Ghostview. > Where is the Lilypond program? If installed correctly, it should be in "/usr/bin/lilypond" in the cygwin-console. But just typing lilypond should work. > Thanks Your welcome!!! > Edwin > Bath, UK.
