There is an intrinsic difference between creating a type setting.
Truthfully creation lend itself to paper and pencil best. Typesetting
seems to work the best for me at least in a nongraphical format like
lilypond.

Truthfully once you know lilypond well enough and have a good text
editor that you really learn. You should be able to configure it to turn
lilypond into a much more intuitive composition tool.
