It works, basically, even for things like:

    | <a b>4
    | \times 2/3 { a8 b c a b c}

* Grok more common syntax stuff, like

    %% foe
    | a4 b8
    | c16( d f)
    | c4-2 d 

* Intergrate it with emacs mode

* Bind (a safe-variant of) it to '|' (or maybe even RET)
