You are not going to see multiple flags since now only one flag is being
printed.  But you were not supposed to be seeing multiple flags before
either since those multiple flags should have been all printed on
exactly the same spot.

Whatever caused those spurious flags to go to different places is still
there.  It just does not get spurious flags to work with any more but it
still may cause other things to go to places where they don't belong.

_This_ symptom will not be there any more.  Others may.
