Yep, I understood you were suggesting to make them the first voice.
I agree that making their beam go down will take less space. Will try later today, as that is quite fast.

Nevertheless, I would not like to join notes in, for example, measures 5, 7 or 21 (Valse 2). I really thing this distinction might be relevant, expressing that the ones joined together can be played with the same "force", but that when they are separated, the melody is only the upper voice (my humble opinion, but as the original typeset back me, I will keep them as they are). :-) :-)
