Thanks for your quick reply.
Yes, I have installed 2.19.44-1. I had already tested the MWE with 2.19.40 but
that failed, giving me the error message:

Unfortunately 2.19.44 gives me the same error message.
So I will have to change something in the file but at present I've no idea what
that should be. (Nice and rather harmless example of the Law of Conservation of
Trouble)
