:) One more voice from someone who was part of the silent majority: I do not use the << · \\ · >> construct, only explicit \voiceOne etc. so I would not be affected. I like your suggestion to enter the voices from top to bottom. But I am not sure if it is worth the backwards-incompatible change, slightly tending towards accepting your proposal.
