For kicks and giggles, I attempted to reproduce an example of tie formatting that appeared on the fb music engraving tips page. The main difference being the placement of the lower tie, which appears in the 3rd, rather than the 4th staff space in lilypond. The other details, like the length and thickness are easily enough dealt with. I could get the lower tie to look pretty close using \shape ... Tie. But since this is a chord, that only affects the bottom tie. Two questions: how does one address the upper tie? Second question: is it possible to affect such things globally, rather than on a per-shape basis?
