Hello all --

I've been trying to keep up with the latest development versions, but I've run into a problem that's keeping me stuck at 2.5.8. First of all, I'm running a fully-up-to-date Gentoo box, with AFPL Ghostscript 8.15. I've been able to use lilypond 2.5.8 just great, and I'm able to compile newer versions; but when I try to use them, the noteheads, clefs etc. in the output are all in Courier, i.e. Ghostscript isn't finding the Feta/Parmesan/Emmentaler fonts. I've tried compiling on another machine and it works great there (with correct output); and I've packaged up the binary and installed it on this machine, but the output is still messed up. There must be some old cruft sitting around on my machine gumming up the works, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to find it. I've run the clean-fonts script, and carefully removed everything from /usr/share/lilypond, /usr/lib/lilypond and /usr/share/omf/lilypond between build attempts. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem?

I've pretty much ruled out fontforge and mftrace since these are invoked only during compile time, not runtime.
