I wonder whether it would make sense to use [! or ]! for a forced beam
start/end.
The main use of !? is after pitches to indicate accidental printing
modifications.
The mechanism would likely just tack on a "force" to the respective
music expression, so it would land with the same engravers.
But I don't really know whether there would be enough uses for this kind
of thing to open this particular syntax can of worms.
That's a very neat idea - but on the other hand, in some sence /every
/instance of [ or ] is 'forced' at the moment - it's just that these
always need a partner.
Also, in my current version, the \_ operator does not try to
force-create a beam that wouldn't be there in the first place. So
c8 \_ r c
does not create a beam over the rest. I tend to think that's fine, though.
