You are right about our being members of this community, however, It would have been common courtesy to ask for permission before posting .... or perhaps they did. Maybe we should ask someone before jumping to conclusions. I have noticed that various GNU software communities have very different standards concerning this kind of funding requests. Neo Office, for instance, brings you back to the website on first launch after installing the program or a patch to ask for cash donations. Other projects simply would not tolerate such behaviour. This is likely the case with Lilypond, since many members already have supported the Lilypond Developers with paid for feature requests.
