Thanks but I found another way to still use portage, I emerge the first version, on slot one, and then move the files from /usr/bin to another directory like /usr/bin/lilypond-x.y.z/ ;emerge the second version on another slot move files to another directory and then just use symblolic links to choose the version I want to use. thanks even though Regards Matth
