If you uncomment the last two lines of the example, it changes the behaviour of the slurred prall-turns earlier in the example: the slurs end above the
prall instead of in the middle.

Strange endeed.
You can fixe the slurs behaviour with the 'avoid-slur property of the Script grob
\override Voice.Script #'avoid-slur = #'outside
