The default for fingerings is not 0 but -5 (at least it was in 2006 when that thread came up). If you change it to -8, for example, you'll see a difference.

Ly file is attached. I'm using 2.11.63 on Vista. When I uncomment the
\override commands in the three voices, the size of the numbers doubles.
