But now I do not know how to start lilypond:
there is a /usr/bin/lilypond file and I presume something had to be done on
it but what?

since /usr/bin is already part of the PATH variable of the operating
system, just type

lilypond my_file.ly

in folder
/usr/share/lilypond/2.10.33/ly

I found the test file Welcome_to_lilypond.ly
I did there:

lilypond Welcome_to_lilypond.ly
and got the following return:

# lilypond Welcome_to_LilyPond.ly
lilypond: Symbol `scm_i_freelist' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
GNU LilyPond 2.10.33
Segmentation fault
# pwd
/usr/share/lilypond/2.10.33/ly
#
What does it mean?

Charlie
