another (minor discrepancy): in the cheat sheet (NR appendix C), the third last command is "\context ChordNames". clicking on the snippet, however, shows that the snippet is generated using \chords { }. don't know if that's confusing or not

It might be :)

The \chords command creates a ChordNames context and then
interprets the following input in \chordmode mode, ie, in the
syntax of chord names.  See Notation Reference 5.4.1 Input
modes for an explanation of input modes.

Maybe this example should create the context and use \chordmode
explicitly, but as this is a cheat sheet I think the shorthand
for those commands is better.
