If you install the beta of Ubuntu 9.04 it has jEdit 4.3pre16 in the
distribution. You can upgrade to 9.04 (assuming you have a treasonably fast
internet connection) by opening a terminal window and entering "sudo
update-manager -d" (without the quotes).

Bertalan said I should install 4.3pre16, so I tried that, but I couldn't see
a version for Ubuntu, so I picked the Java version, and although it said it
installed it, I couldn't find any change in the version when I fired it up.
Still 4.3pre13. Anybody any ideas how to install the latest on Ubuntu?
