The logic at those links is impeccable but irrelevant.


That are mail standards since 20+ years, if a MUA doesn't get it right, it's
not the fault of the list. ;)


True and still irrelevant. With things as they stand, the wrong thing
gets done pretty consistently, and the right thing is made awkward to
do. It doesn't matter why, or whose fault it isn't. The standards are
wrong in this case and should be changed or ignored, because they don't
fit the facts.
