Greetings, Graham's recent 2.14 announcement, as well as Mike's wonderful work on the Emoticon_engraver (see http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2011-03/msg00860.html ) made me realize there are other features much more urgently needed in LilyPond. This requires to add a new backend altogether, which is pretty hard but since I haven't been of much help recently, I figured I'd give it a try.
