I suppose the only way is to make your custom readable lyrics markup language 
(Like: characters in square brackets
should be red) and write a script (in Ruby/Perl/...) that
will preprocess your scores and make your well-readable lyrics to 
not-so-readable, but LilyPond-processable ones...
