Although I use evince all of the time, I never use it for printing LilyPond scores. There are (very long standing) bugs in its printing engine that particularly affect LilyPond pdfs. For example, vertical bars are printed be much too black, and several other small but annoying things. Acrobat Reader does it well, fortunately Ghostscript also does it well.
