Paul, If I'm understanding your question correctly, there is no way I know of to "structurally" define a Fine ending (i.e., to where you could "unfold it" automatically like with volta repeats). All the documentation I've seen says you "cosmetically" define it using rehearsal marks and a bit of tweaking.
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/bars#rehearsal-marks This is the snippet given for the "D.C/S al Fine" direction: \relative c' <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/writing-text.html#>;' <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/writing-text.html#>; { g2 c d,2 a' <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/writing-text.html#>; \once \override Score.RehearsalMark.break-visibility = #end <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/writing-text.html#>-of-line-visible \once \override Score.RehearsalMark.self-alignment-X = #RIGHT <http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.17/Documentation/notation/writing-text.html#> \mark "D.C. al Fine" \break g2 b, c1 \bar "||" Cheers, Carl On Sat, May 25, 2013 at 2:50 PM, Paul Scott <waterho...@ultrasw.com> wrote: > I am having trouble finding in the 2.17.18 docs how to create a pair of > endings: > > 1.
