This debate reminds me of many scientific meetings attended during my working life.
Oftentimes people do not listen carefully to each other and argue the same point vociferously without realising that they actually agree substantially. Everyone here loves Lilypond and Frescobaldi and nobody as I can see wants to be in any way critical of the development team. I too started out writing machine code and bootstrap loaders but couldn't do it now. Mac users and Windows users are not always familiar with Python/Scheme and the delights of unix like OSs. If we attempt to solve an issue it is unlikely to be an elegant efficient or machine indepenent solution and therefore not much use to the general user. >From what has transpired the mac computer seems particuarly complex and >unfriendly to the installation of pretty standard codes such as Frescobaldi. Maybe a mac forum would be the best place to seek help. I can't believe they are less helpful than the Windows community. regards Peter Gentry _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
