Well, I don't have an answer to the question, but... a reminder... it is VERY 
uncool to quote an *entire digest* when you're replying to only one message.

Bad workflow:

1. Reply
2. Write
3. Send

Good workflow:

1. Reply
2. Write
3. Remove irrelevant quotes
4. Send

IMO step 3 is not optional.
