This is related to the feature I’ve been requesting for years — and which I reiterated just a few days ago (http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/baseline-referenced-text-markups-tp157452p157511.html). For some typographically-inexplicable reason, Lilypond does not use the text baseline as the reference point. Hence, because “dal al” has no descenders and “poi segue” does, they are not aligned correctly. Hope this helps (?).
