Jan-Peter,

Thank you for sharing this. In some ways I can see why the default behavior
is to scale the default text size with the staff size (since the focus is
more on the music than on any accompanying text), but on the other hand, it
also seems strange that it's not even possible (without your code, anyway)
to set the text size independently of it without using the markup function
\abs-fontsize everywhere. I tried it out and it worked perfectly for me!
With the release of LilyPond 2.20 happening relatively soon, I'd push to see
if your very helpful code could make it into the codebase as a new feature.
This is tremendously helpful! You should push this message to the "dev" list
and maybe the maintainers will include it...
