Andy, The first thing is that Lilypond is not a Windows application like Word. It is a compiler. It expects to "find" a text file, with extension .ly and convert this to a music score as a .pdf file. If you have such a file and drag and drop it on the icon it will be compiled. However, I would recommend using the excellent (and also free) Frescobaldi front-end editor---see <http://www.frescobaldi.org/>. Also, and you'll get this a lot on this group---Read the manual, in particular and first the Learning manual. I'd also read the Essay as well, as it gives some background information. Find these, and the other docs, at <http://lilypond.org/manuals.html> It sounds like you need a converter program.Perhaps someone with more knowledge of this can help out. -- Mark Austin ---------- For Whigs admit no force but argument ---------- _______________________________________________ lilypond-user mailing list lilypond-user@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-user
