That is a step forward - the zigzag distinguishes the sign from the prall ... looking up the documentation for TextSpanner leads to the same as before "stencil" is referred to as "The symbol to print." and "the stencil callback" in successive entries http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.18/Documentation/internals/textspanner It looks like the actual drawing of zigzags and so on is in compiled code, and so not replaceable by the user without running GUB - at least I can't find any trace of it.
