I just installed LyX this afternoon and was/am greatly impressed. I recall
when I first heard about it I totally blew it off -- "oh, this is just a
front end to LaTeX for wussies" -- but that's not it at all! It is _so_
powerful (or seems that way), can import/export all kinds of formats and
allows you to do things like arrange and resize images on the screen, in a
document. And a 1.5" stack of manuals-in-progress. I won't be getting much
sleep tonight, I don't think...
