Which version do you have? 0.5x seemed to crash enough, but the newest 0.99x
seems to have a lot of the bugs ironed out.

Have you tried all the GIMP plugins that are out there? There's a plugin for
just about anything, but speaking of fractal design I'd like to see more
fractal-inspired paint routines. There was a win311 app a while back called
"fracpaint" that was kind of interesting: you'd draw a basic shape with a
drawing tool (looked like xfig) and it'd do a number of fractal iterations
on it, and allowed for fractal fills.

Another program to look at is ImageMagick. I haven't played with it much but
it's along the GIMP vein.


While on the painting subject, is there anything like Adobe Streamline? I
would like to scan an image and have it traced and be able to export the
trace information to a PostScript file.
