Greeting to all you here. It was mentioned by Mr. Stutz, that I might find this list
interesting
and helpful. So heres my introduction to the community:
My name is Alexander Zimmerman (though I have gone by, and may go again
by, other
names). By degree I am a librarian. In actuality I am traveling for a spell about
to leave
Albuquerque and head to Maine. By necessity and love I am a writer. Mostly fiction,
once in a
great while - a poem.
I feel strongly that I would like my writing copylefted or something
similar, but I
have just starting to think about it practically as opposed to abstractly, off in
the back of my
head somewhere - because I have some work that is finished. In particular I am
interested in the
use of copyleft (and other similar licensing) with the printing of actual physical
books, not just
on the Net.
In spirit of full disclosure, I must admit I know nothing about Linux.
Well, nothing
technically I mean....Of course Ive heard of it and know what its about. And
although I
realized that this list is half named for Linux, I still thought it would be
beneficial for me to
hang out and see what was being discussed on the free art side of things.
I would be happy to hear from others who have used copyleft or even
unrestrictive
licenses with their art work, particularly fiction, poetry, painting, or photography
- especially
if this copyleft or other license is used on physical works, not just online works.
Responding Onlist is fine, but if its bothersome to others and off the
current
topic, than offlist works too (I have just started browsing the archives for relevant
posts.....)
Well, thats it for now. Off to make soup and drink sangria.

Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
