About ArtBots:

ArtBots is a cross between a traditional talent show and a juried art
exhibition. We have chosen this format so that both robots that make
time-based art (e.g. a robot that plays music) and robots that create
static output (e.g. a robot that draws a picture) can participate. There
are no firm rules that define what qualifies as an art-making robot; if
you think it's a robot and you think that it's making art, then it's an
art-making robot. However, since we have a limited amount of space and
resources, we will select a fixed number of participating robots from
the pool of entrants.

Now for some Q&A:

Q: Is this a robot competition?
A: Not really, it's more of a show. However, there will be at least two
awards given out at the end: the "Audience Choice Award" and the
"Robots' Choice Award."

Q: How many robots will be in the show?
A: About ten.

Q: Where will the event take place?
A: Somewhere in New York City. The exact location has not yet been
selected.

Q: Is ArtBots open to people outside of New York City?
A: Of course. However, we're not in a position to offer anything in the
way of accommodations for out-of-town guests.

Q: Is there a swimsuit competition?
A: No, there is no swimsuit competition.

Q: What's the point of ArtBots?
A: To have fun and to celebrate some creative, non-violent and
not-so-competitive aspects of robotics.
